The first breakfast

After a morning of exploring, we returned to the Plaza de Armas Hotel for a well-earned breakfast. The dining area welcomed us with a bright buffet full of inviting options. There were fresh vegetables and crunchy pickles, alongside warm trays of bacon, eggs, and sausages. A selection of fruit and cereals added a lighter touch, and baskets of breads and sweet pastries tempted from the corner. We could order coffee, tea, or a cup of thick, delicious hot chocolate that felt like a treat in itself. Coca tea and fresh juices were also on hand—available any time, which was a nice touch.

It was the kind of breakfast that let you linger, take a breath, and just enjoy the moment—simple, satisfying, and full of little comforts.

Po porannym spacerze wróciliśmy do hotelu Plaza de Armas, gdzie czekało na nas śniadanie. W restauracji hotelu stał już gotowy bufet, z którego uśmiechały się nas warzywa, marynaty, chrupiący bekon, jajka i kiełbaski. Do tego owoce, musli oraz różne rodzaje pieczywa i słodkich wypieków. Można było zamówić kawę, herbatę albo gęstą, pyszną czekoladę na gorąco. Herbata z liści koki i świeże soki były dostępne przez cały czas.

To było takie śniadanie, które pozwala się na chwilę zatrzymać, zrelaksować i po prostu cieszyć chwilą – bez pośpiechu (nie będziemy sobie przecież wypominać, że także bez umiaru).

Eggs 'n Things

For breakfast today we went to Eggs ‘n Things. I really do not remember who recommended it to us or why we decided to start the day here, as it is a western style breakfast, but as we went around the street trying to find an entrance (it really was tricky!), we found a few other people doing the same. The place is really popular. We came at their opening time so at least not a queue for us, but when we were leaving it was up to an hour(!) of wait to even get inside. Would it be worth it? Not really. But as it was, we had a rather nice breakfast with crazy amount of whipped cream on the pancakes (do not get me wrong, I am NOT complaining about it). We shared a table with a nice couple from America that we met running in circles whilst trying to understand the navigational clues from Google (I am sure Google had a proper chuckle at our expense).

Dzisiaj na śniadanie wybraliśmy się do Eggs’n Things. Naprawdę nie pamiętam, kto nam to polecił i dlaczego zdecydowaliśmy się rozpocząć tutaj dzień, ponieważ jest to śniadanie totalnie w stylu zachodnim, ale gdy kręciliśmy się po okolicy, próbując znaleźć wejście (co wcale nie było łatwe), wpadliśmy na kilka innych osób, robiących dokładnie to samo. Ta restauracja jest tutaj dość popularna. Przyjechaliśmy na samo otwarcie, więc przynajmniej nie było jeszcze kolejki, ale kiedy wychodziliśmy, to kolejka przed wejściem była już lekko na godzinę czekania. Czy byłoby warto? Szczerze mówiąc niekoniecznie. Ale tak bez czekania to OK, zjedliśmy całkiem znośne śniadanie z szaloną ilością bitej śmietany na naleśnikach (nie, żeby na to narzekała). Do naszego stolika dołączyła sympatyczna para z USA, którą poznaliśmy wcześniej kręcąc się w kółko i próbując zrozumieć wskazówki nawigacyjne Google (jestem pewna, że Google miał niezłą zabawę naszym kosztem ;)).

Before the palace

This morning, we begin once again with a delicious breakfast at Dar One before heading out to explore the Badi Palace. The birds are singing, and the courtyard feels pleasantly balmy.

Dziś rano zaczynamy ponownie od pysznego śniadania w Dar One, zanim wyruszymy na zwiedzanie Pałacu Badi. Ptaki śpiewają, a dziedziniec jest przyjemnie chłodny.

Riad Dar One

Our second riad, Dar One, is nestled in the historic Mellah district, also known as the Jewish quarter of the medina, just a stone's throw from the enchanting Bahia Palace. This beautifully renovated riad boasts a contemporary minimalist style that masterfully marries the captivating charm of traditional riads with the comforts of modern living.

Nasz drugi riad, Dar One, jest położony w historycznej dzielnicy Mellah, znanej również jako dzielnica żydowska mediny, zaledwie rzut beretem od Pałacu Bahia. Ten pięknie odnowiony riad szczyci się współczesnym minimalistycznym stylem, który mistrzowsko łączy urzekający urok tradycyjnych riadów z wygodami nowoczesnego życia.

As we step inside, we are greeted by a serene palette of muted colours—burnt orange, sapphire, and moss green—punctuated by soft textures of brushed gold and grey. The interior courtyard of the riad showcases exquisite Moorish ironwork and intricate tiles, a true nod to the rich architectural heritage of Marrakech. Guests can also unwind in a cosy indoor lounge complete with a charming chimney or take in the views from the rooftop terrace.

Gdy wchodzimy do środka, wita nas spokojna paleta stonowanych kolorów — spalonej pomarańczy, szafiru i zieleni mchu — przerywanych miękkimi fakturami złota i szarości. Wewnętrzny dziedziniec riadu ozdabiają mauretańskie wyroby żelazne i piękne ceramiczn płytki - ukłon w stronę bogatego dziedzictwa architektonicznego Marrakeszu. Goście mogą również odpocząć w przytulnym salonie z uroczym kominkiem lub podziwiać widoki z tarasu na dachu.

We are staying in the Sirocco suite, which opens directly onto the terrace. The suite is a harmonious blend of style and comfort, featuring walls painted in deep chocolate hues and dark brown wood panels. The windows are dressed in striped curtains that echo the same patterns found on the lampshades. Our bed is spacious and comfortable, and we also enjoy the luxury of a private sunbed on the rooftop where we can relax under the Moroccan sun.

Zatrzymujemy się w jedynej suicie riadu, Sirocco, która wychodzi bezpośrednio na taras. Suita ma ściany w kolorze głębokieh odcieni czekolady i ciemnobrązowe panelez drewna. Okna są ozdobione pasiastymi zasłonami, i takie same wzory widnieją na abażurach lamp. Nasze łóżko jest przestronne i wygodne, a my możemy również cieszyć się luksusem prywatnego łóżka na dachu.

We postponed our pre-booked dinner for the next day as I am still a bit careful about what I can eat after my food poisoning and tagine makes me uneasy. But our first breakfast is delightful, showcasing the flavours of Morocco and providing a perfect start to the day.

Przełożyliśmy naszą wcześniej zarezerwowaną kolację na następny dzień, gdyż po moim zatruciu pokarmowym ciągle mam problem z patrzeniem nawet na tagine. Ale nasze pierwsze śniadanie jest bardzo smaczne i wszystko jest świeżutkie a podpłomyki wciąż gorące.

A very good morning

Breakfast at Ennafoura makes for a lovely start to the day. The food is fresh, delicious, and served beautifully. Today, we don't have to rush as our first destination is just a few steps away, allowing us to enjoy total bliss.

Śniadania w Ennafoura to zawsze znakomity początek dnia. Jedzenie jest świeże, smaczne i pięknie podane. Dziś nie musimy się spieszyć, gdyż do pierwszego punktu zwiedzania mamy zaledwie kilka kroków. Zatem śniadanie jest leniwe i bardzo przyjemne.
