Riad breakfast

When we get up, a delicious breakfast is already waiting for us – various forms of Moroccan bread, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, jams and honey, fruit and, most importantly, still boiling shakshuka. Obviously, sweet mint tea and coffee are also offered, as well as orange juice.  Even though the temperature is already high, the riad is pleasantly cool, so it is a perfect start to a day.

Kiedy wstajemy, czeka już na nas pyszne śniadanie – różne formy marokańskiego chleba, ser, pomidory, ogórek, dżemy i miód, owoce i, co najważniejsze, jeszcze wrząca shakshuka. Oczywiście oferowana jest również słodka miętowa marokańska herbata i kawa, a także sok pomarańczowy. Mimo, że temperatura jest już wysoka, w riadzie jest przyjemnie chłodno, więc jest to idealny początek dnia.

First dinner

A taxi, of course, cannot take us to the hotel itself because we live in the middle of the medina. So, it takes us to the edge, and Mustafa from our riad is already waiting for us there. On the way, dragging my suitcase, he explains to us the orientation of the medina and how to get to various places. Upon arrival, she brews a delicious Moroccan mint tea and hands us the keys to the room and the riad.

Taksówka rzecz jasna nie może zawieść nas pod sam hotel bo mieszkamy w środku medyny. Zawozi wiec nas na jej brzeg, a tam już czeka na nas Mustafa z naszego riadu. Po drodze, ciągnąc moją walizkę, wyjaśnia nam orientację medyny i jak gdzie dotrzeć. Po dotarciu na miejsce zaparza nam pyszną miętową marokańską herbatkę i wręcza klucze do pokoju i do riadu.

After refreshing ourselves, we follow Mustafa to the rooftop terrace, where we get a delicious dinner. Despite the late hour, it is still hot in Marrakech but much cooler in our riad than outside. And that's it for today. It's time to sleep because tomorrow morning we will start exploring Marrakesh.

Po odświeżeniu się ruszamy za Mustafą na taras na dachu, gdzie dostajemy pyszny obiad. Mimo późnej pory jest wciąż bardzo gorąco, ale w naszym riadzie jest dużo chłodniej niż na zewnątrz. I to tyle na dzisiaj. Czas spać bo jutro od rana eksploracja Marrakeszu.

Kyoto Kitchen with friends

We are back at the Kyoto Kitchen in Winchester today, but this time with friends. The restaurant will move to a different place soon (but still in Winchester), so this is the last opportunity to enjoy their tasting menu in the current place. Food is as good as always, a bit of an adventure for friends who are not used to sushi or raw meats. But there is also tempura, teriyaki salmon, teriyaki chicken, and sweets, so they seem OK with the dinner. Or so I hope.

Dziś odwiedzamy po raz kolejny Kyoto Kitchen w Winchester, ale tym razem z przyjaciółmi. Restauracja wkrótce przeniesie się w inne miejsce (nadal w Winchester), więc to ostatnia okazja, by cieszyć się ich menu degustacyjnym w dotychczasowej lokacji. Jedzenie jest jak zawsze pyszne. Trochę może jest to wyzwanie dla przyjaciół, którzy nie są przyzwyczajeni do sushi lub surowego mięsa. Ale jest też tempura, łosoś teriyaki, kurczak teriyaki i desery, więc mam nadzieje, że generalnie im smakowało.

Alice

 Tonight we found ourselves at the Garden Society again, this time for a cabaret dinner inspired by the story of Alice.

Dzisiejszego wieczoru znowu znaleźliśmy się w the Garden Society, tym razem na kabaretowym obiedzie inspirowanym historią Alicji.

They prepared the room very well, I almost didn't recognise where I was.

Bardzo fajnie przygotowali salę, prawie nie rozpoznałam gdzie jestem.

The dinner was very pleasant, especially the baked camembert with vegetables.

Obiad był bardzo przyjemny, zwłaszcza pieczony camembert z warzywami.

 The cabaret shows were quite varied, and we both had a great time.

Występy kabaretowe były dość różnorodne i bardzo dobrze się obydwoje bawiliśmy.

Cafe Kitsune

Before we start exploring the floral compositions in Chelsea, we decided to po in in for a little something to the Cafe Kitsuné. It is the well-known coffee shop franchise of the music and fashion brand Maison Kitsuné, located on the ground floor of Pantechnicon (inside an archway connecting Motcomb Street with the Halkin Arcade). I grab an Earl Grey tea and a Blossom Iced Matcha Latte, Marcin gets coffee. And we also indulge in a sandwich and a delicious sweet pastry.

Zanim zaczniemy eksplorować kwiatowe kompozycje w Chelsea, wpadamy jeszcze na małe co nieco do Cafe Kitsuné. To znana kawiarnia, będąca częścią francuskiej marki muzycznej i modowej Maison Kitsuné. Mieści się ona na parterze budynku Pantechnicon, w przejściu łączącym ulice Motcomb z Halkin Arcade. Ja zamawiam herbatę Earl Grey i Blossom Iced Matcha Latte, Marcin wybiera kawę. Dodatkowo raczymy się kanapką i pysznym ciastkiem.
