After breakfast we went to the Nippon Television Tower to see the Really Big Clock, designed by Miyazaki Hayao, studio Ghibli’s director. At 12 meters high and 18 meters wide, and weighting 28 tones (it is made from copper and steel), it is the largest animated clock in the world.
Po śniadaniu udaliśmy się do Wieży Telewizyjnej Nippon, aby zobaczyć Naprawdę Wielki Zegar, zaprojektowany przez Miyazakiego Hayao, reżysera ze studia Ghibli. Zegar ten mając 12 metrów wysokości i 18 metrów szerokości i ważąc 28 ton (jest wykonany z miedzi i stali), jest największym animowanym zegarem na świecie.
This beautiful, huge mechanical clock belonging to the steampunk world gets alive a few times a day, when extensive, timed to music, animations starts to play. Everything spins, whirs and clanks. Watching clock’s moving legs and all the elements inside (lift going up and down, blacksmiths working, people spinning a wheel and walking around on a balcony) it is hard not to think about Howl’s Moving Castle. Ah, and they even have their own small clock inside.
Ten piękny, ogromny mechaniczny zegar należący do świata steampunku ożywa kilka razy dziennie, kiedy uruchamiają się rozbudowane, zsynchronizowane z muzyką, animacje. Wszystko się kręci, wiruje i brzęczy. Obserwując poruszające się nogi zegara i wszystkie elementy znajdujące się wewnątrz (wjeżdżająca i zjeżdżająca winda, pracujący kowale, ludzie kręcący kołowrót i spacerujący po balkonie) trudno nie pomyśleć o Ruchomym Zamku Hauru. Ach, i mają nawet swój własny mały zegar w środku.
After watching a morning show we decided to come back in the evening again, to see it in the night lighting.
